Macintosh IIvx, IIvi;
Performa 600, 600CD - wiki
CPU
68030 @ 31.3344MHz (IIvx; Performa 600, 600CD)
68030 @ 16.00MHz (IIvi)
68882 @ 31.3344MHz (IIvx; optional on Performa 600, 600CD - can be added)
68882 @ 16.00MHz (optional on IIvi - can be added)
System bus @ 16MHz; 32-bit
32k L2 cache onboard (IIvx only)
Slight but identical uplift in certain cases using DiiMO's 'SANE traps' or DayStar's 'PowerMath' features.
Memory
4MB onboard, 80ns; 68MB max
1 bank of 4 x 30-pin SIMMs, 80ns or faster
Will operate in 24-bit and 32-bit addressing modes.
One set of 2MB SIMMs with GALs produced a barely measurable uplift in onboard video performance over standard 4MB SIMMs.
Machine ID
44 (IIvi)
45 (Performa 600, 600CD)
48 (IIvx)
Video
The onboard video system is essentially a PDS frame buffer with two slots for 256k or 512k 68-pin VRAM SIMMs. It supports 1, 2, 4, 8, and 16-bit color modes and on-the-fly resolution switching(?).
2 x 256k 68-pin, 100ns or faster
512 x 384 @ 8, 16-bit
640 x 480 @ 8-bit
640 x 870 @ 4-bit
2 x 512k 68-pin, 100ns or faster
512 x 384 @ 8, 16-bit
640 x 480 @ 8, 16-bit
640 x 870 @ 4-bit
512k, 1MB @ 100ns, 70ns, 60ns perform identically. VRAM SIMMs must be installed in matching pairs.
Will boot from SCSI CD holding C:
External Ports:
DA-15 video port
DB-25 SCSI port
8-pin serial printer port
8-pin serial modem port
2 x 4-pin ADB port
3.5mm stereo audio out port
3.5mm microphone/line-in port
C14 AC power connector
C13 AC power passthrough
Reset & Interrupt
Discrete front panel buttons & soft keyboard (Ctrl+Cmd+Pwr / Ctrl +Pwr)
Accelerator Performance Data (IIvx)
DayStar 50 is p33 PowerCache; MicroMac DiiMO 50 is 1996 030 Accelerator. SD Card is Kingston 16GB Canvas Select.
DayStar's Power Central 2.0 correctly identifies all cache sizes, though the stock IIvx is reported as 4294967295MHz 68030. The two upgrade cards are detected correctly as 50MHz 68030.
