Description:
4x PCI Express 3.0 card provides two 40Gbps Thunderbolt 3.0 interfaces by combining PCIe bandwidth, up to 100w of power delivery (PD3.0) fed via two internal six-pin PCIe power headers, USB 2.0 legacy bus fed via internal USB header, and two DisplayPort 1.4 links via two external mini-DisplayPort connectors. One full-size DisplayPort connector is available for driving a smaller display when also using two links to drive a large (5K) USB-C display. This was designed for use specifically with early Thunderbolt-capable platform controllers which provided no onboard ports. With modified ROMs flashed onto THU3 and THU4, it will also work in MacPro5,1 systems (at full speed if plugged into a PCIe 3.0 capable hub with 4x or more available 3.0 links and 8x or more links to the 2.0 host.)
