Description:
040 PDS card contains full 486 single board computer, one memory SIMM, and soundblaster compatible sound daughterboard. Has internal headers for CD audio passthrough, and external port for four-ended adapter cable providing VGA loopback from the host Mac as well as joystick port. Pictured is the adapter bracket for use in Quadra/Centris 900, 950, 650, 800. Reply provided an alternate one for the Quadra 700 with external audio ports since it has no internal CD audio header (not pictured.) Without the extender the card is suited for use in Quadra/Centris 610 and 660AV, and PowerMac 6100 when installed with PDS riser (not pictured.) The base card is identical to Apple's Houdini II card shipped in 6100 models. Pictured is the Apple OEM version of the breakout cable, functionally identical to Reply's version. This example needs three burned capacitors replaced on the backside before any testing occurs. I added a layer of insulating tape to the extender bracket because the tolerance looks a little worrying.
