Village Tronic - Rolodex
Description:
NuBus card provides QuickDraw accelerated video output with a maximum 1152x870 resolution at 32-bit color or up to 1600x1200 resolution at 16-bit color (4MB SGRAM.) Driver only supports PowerPC host systems. Only NuBus card to support hardware Quicktime acceleration? Features both DA-15 and VGA D-sub connector, though only one can be used at a time. Later sold as Sonnet Sonata Pro 24 (this one had a Sonnet sticker over the Village Tronic branding in auction photos, but it was loose and came off before the card arrived.) Card is related to PCI-based Picasso 540, and onboard headers suggest compatibility with the 'Pablo' AV addon, though I cannot confirm this. Only the 540 received the Voodoo-based '3D Overdrive' add-in (which utilized the adjacent PCI slot anyhow.)
Identifying Numbers:
Picasso 340; MacPicasso 340; A2750
Onboard logic:
Xilinx AX3164A™ PQ160AKJ9829
