Macintosh IIci - wiki

CPU
68030 @ 25.00MHz

68882 @ 25.00MHz
System bus @ 25.00MHz; 32-bit

32k SRAM cache optional but commonly installed from the factory; larger caches and CPU upgrades available

Memory
none onboard; 128MB max
2 banks of 4 x 30-pin SIMMs; 80ns or faster

System performance can be increased ~20% by installing 4 x 256k SIMMs in Bank A and using RAM Muncher or Disk Cache to occupy the remainder of the first megabyte not used by the video frame buffer, reducing access time for operating RAM in Bank B which is not used for video. In this case 65MB is the maximum memory configuration.
Will operate in 24-bit and 32-bit addressing modes.

Machine ID: 11

??? {
  • When operating with a 1996 MicroMac DiiMO 50MHz 030 card,  Macintosh Display Card 24AC, sibling Radius PrecesionColor Pro 24X & RasterOps PaintBoard Turbo XL only work in NuBus slot E (closest to Cache slot.) These video cards operate normally in all slots when using the Daystar P33 50MHz PowerCache. Most other video cards work normally.
  • These cards operate normally alongside the DiiMO 030 in the IIvx, except the Futura II LX, which is not stable outside slot ...
  • E-Machines Futura II LX appears unstable with the driver loaded. This could be a defect of the particular card I have.

Reset & Interrupt
Discrete front panel buttons only.

Cache & Accelerator Performance Data
32k Cache module is Apple's OEM; 64k is DayStar FastCache IIci; 128k is Micron XCEED IIci-128; DayStar 50 is p33 PowerCache; MicroMac DiiMO 50 is 1996 030 Accelerator. SD Card is Kingston 16GB Canvas Select.
Micron 128k module would disable itself when either DayStar's Power Central or PowerDemo is launched. I have a distant memory of Power Central once displaying '128KB Direct Map Cache' but it now displays "No Card Installed." Every other cache size is detected correctly in Power Central.
